Toad Cove is the end result of many years of trials and tribulations. From the dream that began on an island in the Caribbean to the vision that Merlyn Vandervort had the day he stood on the shore of the 7-mile cove, a once-dilapidated property is now the Horny Toad Entertainment Complex and The Resort & Yacht Club @ Toad Cove.
This spring, after 10 years in the making, both were finally completed, and celebrations commence with a four-day grand opening, starting on July 3, including a fireworks display and Randy Travis live in concert. More fireworks displays and entertainment like Dueling Pianos are scheduled for July 4-5, with the grand finale of a live concert by The Outlaws on July 6. Reservations are available for luxury concert suites as well as upper-balcony, VIP and concert-level seating. General admission tickets are always available at Tropical Sunsations or via Ticketmaster.
The Horny Toad facility is unlike anything in the country, giving a new definition to the term “entertainment complex.” The top floor is the Horny Toad Steakhouse, specializing in gourmet dining in a fun, relaxed atmosphere; the middle two floors are Jeremiah’s Night Club; and the lowest level includes the Frisky Frog sports bar and grill, the 7-Mile Mini Mart and Tropical Sunsations, a waterfront convenience store and boutique.
The Resort, the Lake’s premier luxury resort, offers plenty of retail space, indoor/outdoor swimming pool with a swim-up bar, spa and salon, fitness center and indoor sand volleyball court. All suites have lake views and feature fireplaces, high-end cabinetry and moldings, built-in flat-screen televisions, stereo tuner and surround sound, DVD and CD players, high-speed wireless Internet access, kitchenettes, king-size beds with luxurious bedding, leather sofas with pull-out sleeper beds and more.
Everything a visitor might need is on the property, from swimming to shopping. Lie by the pool or swim up to the bar, get a massage with a breathtaking view of the lake or go shopping at Toad Cove Apparel Boutique, Diamonds of Toad Cove or T-Shirt Shack. Concierges eagerly await the opportunity to make all of your arrangements, help you plan your day or just point you in the right direction.
The Resort & Yacht Club also offers visitor spa packages and discounted golf packages at any of the Lake’s 14 golf courses, including four signature courses. Golf packages include tee times, shuttle service to and from the golf course, a sleeve of golf balls and bottled water. All Resort packages can be tailored to your needs.
